Mohn Kichel

Ingredients

  • 1 stick unsalted butter

  • 1/2 cup sugar

  • 1 egg, lightly beaten

  • 1/4 cup poppy seeds, a bit less

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • Pinch salt

  • 1/2 tsp vanilla or almond extract

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350

  • Grease baking sheet

  • Beat butter and sugar; add egg and extract

  • Fold in poppy seeds

  • Combine flour with baking powder and salt and add into butter mixture

  • Make walnut size balls and flatten with bottom of small glass dipped in flour.

  • Bake 12-15 minutes
