How to Play
A guide for masters of every age.
🎮 Quick Start
- Type your hero’s name on the title screen.
- Tap New Game and pick the element you want to start with.
- Explore the world map. Move around to trigger mob encounters, visit the Elemental Shrine, and scout the Wildlands.
- Win battles to level up. Every 5 levels, challenge the boss at the Boss Arena to unlock a new element.
⚔ Battle Controls
⚔ Attack
A regular hit using your active element. Always available, and it builds up energy for your special move.
✨ Special
A powerful elemental attack that does double damage. Costs energy — you’ll see the purple bar fill up as you attack and defend. The special’s name and power level up as your hero gets stronger.
🛡 Defend
Brace yourself! The next hit you take is cut in half, and you still gain a little energy. Useful when your HP is low or you need one more turn before unleashing a special.
🔮 The Element Chart
Each element has a weakness. Attack with the element that beats your enemy and your hits do extra damage — we call this super effective.
💡 Tip for new players: Bosses always tell you which element they use, and the game hints at what beats them. Read the boss intro!

Most elements come in two-way pairs — if water beats fire, fire also beats water. Vortex is unstable and counters itself.
👾 Enemy Types
Elemental mobs
Most regular enemies have an element. If you have the matching element, your attacks do 1.5× damage.
Neutral mobs
About 1 in 4 regular enemies has no element — like Cave Bats, Goblins, or Skeletons. They’re a bit tougher to make up for it. No element beats them — you just have to hit hard!
⚠ Bosses
Every 5th level is a boss. Bosses are always elemental, and their weakness gets a 2× damage bonus. Try to fight them with the element that beats them!
📈 Leveling Up
- Win a battle → gain a level. Your HP refills automatically.
- Every 5th level is a boss. Beating any boss unlocks one new element until you’ve collected them all.
- You can eventually hold the full element roster. Switch between owned elements at the hub.
- Every 5 levels, your special attack upgrades. Fire goes Flame → Fireball → Inferno → Meteor!
💾 Saving Your Game
The game saves automatically to your browser every time something important happens — moving, leveling up, switching elements, beating a boss. Closing the tab is fine; come back any time and tap Continue.
Saving to a file
Tap 💾 Save to File on the map screen to download a backup. Useful for:
- Moving to a different device or browser.
- Keeping a backup in case your browser clears its data.
- Saving your favorite hero before trying something risky.
To load a save, tap Load Save File on the title screen and pick the JSON file.
⚠ If you leave the page after making progress that hasn’t been exported to a file, the browser will ask if you’re sure. Your auto-save is still safe — the warning is just a reminder that file backups are a good idea.
🧠 Strategy Tips
- Save your special for tough enemies. Bosses and neutral mobs hit hard. Specials do double damage and end fights faster.
- Defend before a boss’s big hit if your HP is getting low. Half damage is much better than a knockout.
- Visit the Elemental Shrine before a boss. You can switch elements there and pick up a blessing for your next battle.
- Don’t worry about losing! You go right back to the same battle with full HP. Try a different strategy.
